Install and configure for openSUSE and SUSE Linux Enterprise

This section describes how to install and configure the neutron-interconnection service for openSUSE Leap 42.1 and SUSE Linux Enterprise Server 12 SP1.

Prerequisites

Before you install and configure the neutron-interconnection service, you must create a database, service credentials, and API endpoints.

  1. To create the database, complete these steps:

    • Use the database access client to connect to the database server as the root user:

      $ mysql -u root -p

    • Create the neutron_interconnection database:

      CREATE DATABASE neutron_interconnection;

    • Grant proper access to the neutron_interconnection database:

      GRANT ALL PRIVILEGES ON neutron_interconnection.* TO 'neutron_interconnection'@'localhost' \
        IDENTIFIED BY 'NEUTRON_INTERCONNECTION_DBPASS';
      GRANT ALL PRIVILEGES ON neutron_interconnection.* TO 'neutron_interconnection'@'%' \
        IDENTIFIED BY 'NEUTRON_INTERCONNECTION_DBPASS';

      Replace NEUTRON_INTERCONNECTION_DBPASS with a suitable password.

    • Exit the database access client.

      exit;

  2. Source the admin credentials to gain access to admin-only CLI commands:

    $ . admin-openrc

  3. To create the service credentials, complete these steps:

    • Create the neutron_interconnection user:

      $ openstack user create --domain default --password-prompt neutron_interconnection

    • Add the admin role to the neutron_interconnection user:

      $ openstack role add --project service --user neutron_interconnection admin

    • Create the neutron_interconnection service entities:

      $ openstack service create --name neutron_interconnection --description "neutron-interconnection" neutron-interconnection

  4. Create the neutron-interconnection service API endpoints:

    $ openstack endpoint create --region RegionOne \
      neutron-interconnection public http://controller:XXXX/vY/%\(tenant_id\)s
    $ openstack endpoint create --region RegionOne \
      neutron-interconnection internal http://controller:XXXX/vY/%\(tenant_id\)s
    $ openstack endpoint create --region RegionOne \
      neutron-interconnection admin http://controller:XXXX/vY/%\(tenant_id\)s

Install and configure components

  1. Install the packages:

    # zypper --quiet --non-interactive install

  1. Edit the /etc/neutron_interconnection/neutron_interconnection.conf file and complete the following actions:

    • In the [database] section, configure database access:

      [database]
      ...
      connection = mysql+pymysql://neutron_interconnection:NEUTRON_INTERCONNECTION_DBPASS@controller/neutron_interconnection

Finalize installation

Start the neutron-interconnection services and configure them to start when the system boots:

# systemctl enable openstack-neutron_interconnection-api.service

# systemctl start openstack-neutron_interconnection-api.service
